Silt trap upstream of percolation facilities: the silt trap reduces the flow speed of the inflowing wastewater to an extent where the solids contained there in can settle and the flow is generally calmed.

This is achieved by way of a baffle plate in the inlet preventing short-circuit water flows. A downflow baffle in the outlet retains floating matter, leaves, etc.
